Opening doors, bridging gaps, and making connections are just a few of Bisila “BB” Bokoko’s talents as an international brand ambassador, TV contributor, and motivational business speaker. Drawing on her impressive track record of taking companies from local to international, and extensive experience crafting strategic partnerships, Bisila is passionate about sharing her knowledge and mentoring emerging leaders.
Her unique and compelling viewpoint encompasses insights as a woman and a self-described cultural hybrid, combining African roots with a Spanish upbringing and American business sense. From hosting a United Nations event in Switzerland to delivering a keynote address in the Dominican Republic, Bisila has shared her business expertise and inspirational life journey with audiences around the world.
Bisila’s background is fashion and she has paved the way for several Spanish brands to undertake global expansion including Zara, Mango, and Desigual. Currently, she serves as Ambassador for Kukka Designs Jewelry in Spain and the US, and Ambassador for Amparo Chorda Designs and Agatha Ruiz de la Prada. She also hosted Miss Tourism 2014 during African Fashion Week, a global fashion event that promotes the empowerment of women who are victims of gender violence. It was the first time this event had been held in Africa and featured the Mujer Ideal fashion show.
Since 2012, Bisila has been achieving results for her clients as owner of Bisila Bokoko Embassy Services (BBES) developing communication and public relations strategies, managing special events, and delivering business intelligence services in global markets. In addition to her brand ambassador roles above, BBES has also completed projects for Pikolinos, a Spanish shoe and accessory company, the Liceu Opera House of Barcelona, and the Foodie Channel, an online resource for the Spanish food industry. In addition to BBES, Bisila flexed her entrepreneurial muscles in 2010, when she started Bisila Wines that produces a collection of Spanish red, white, and sparkling wines.
Prior to launching her consulting firm, Bisila fostered trade and investment between Spain and the United States as Executive Director of the Spain-US Chamber of Commerce and as Director of the Valencia Institute of Export, a regional trade agency. Her experience in these positions taught her the intricacies of international trade and enabled her to cultivate an extensive professional network that includes high-level diplomats, government officials, and corporate leaders.
While she has experienced hard-won success as a business woman and entrepreneur, she is also a prolific philanthropist. Her heart project is the Bisila Bokoko African Literacy Project (BBALP), a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting African literacy and education. Bisila is committed to opening libraries throughout Africa with current facilities in Ghana, Zimbabwe, Kenya, and Uganda.
Bisila’s efforts have won her widespread recognition and led to her involvement with EMPRETEC, a United Nations programme that supports up and coming entrepreneurs. She has received numerous global honors including the Ideal Woman Award 2017 in Equatorial Guinea, Womenwerk award in 2016, and African Committed to Excellence in 2011 by Face2Face, and Ladybrille Magazine’s International Woman of the Month in February 2010. She has also been featured in Forbes, Entrepreneur Magazine, Bloomberg TV, Black Enterprise, Harper’s Bazaar, and other top publications.
